World Natural Hair Show.....I was a hair model!

The World Natural Hair Show was this past weekend here in Atlanta. I was one of Flo Naturals hair models thanks to my blogger friend, Trina Baby Shopaholic
Constance (Master stylist and owner of Flo Naturals) and Trina had the perfect idea to do coils on my hair. I’ve been natural 5yrs and this the only style I have not done on my hair, so I was excited for her to create this style on my hair.
This style took her about 45mins to do. She moved fast! The style was a fancy look for me. I felt like I should have been going to a ball or something where I would be putting on a long sequined dress, some heels and walking a red carpet. I felt fancy! Lol

Weigh-In Wednesday: I loss...and gained some of my weight back!

Yes, it happened! I gained some of my weight back. It's not much, but dammit it's a gain, so it's enough. But then I got to thinking...what happened, rather how did this happen?  My only answer was, besides not eating properly, I was not held accountable. You may be asking yourself, "Why do a 40+ year old woman need accountability?" Well we all need some accountability from others in certain aspect of our lives. I'm no exception!

December 2016

So, I thought, how can I be held more accountable when it comes to my healthier lifestyle? I came up with starting a series on the blog and sharing my weight loss numbers with you all-my readers! See most people don't talk about their struggles of losing weight and they are definitely shy away from sharing that number. Hell I am that person. But I am willing to throw that out the window!

As mentioned, I will do a monthly series called "Weigh-In Wednesday" chronicling my weight loss(or gain), my challenges and of course the triumphs. I will also do a side-by-side pic of the previous month weigh-in along with the current weigh-in to show progress.

With that said, here's my 1st weigh-in for Jan:

If you are currently on a healthier lifestyle journey, please share some of your words of wisdom on how you keep going.

New Year Day Brunch For One f./ Jack Daniel's Winter Jack Tennessee Cider

Happy New Year! Bye 2016 and hello 2017. I brought in the New Year at home relaxing. Normally, on New Year's Day we have brunch at my sister home, but this year I decided to stay home and have brunch for one. Yep, just me!

I was excited for my one person brunch, because my good friends over at Jack Daniel's sent me their Winter Jack Tennessee Cider to try, so this was a perfect time to whip up me a mimosa or two.

The Jack Daniel's Winter Jack Mimosa recipe called for:
     1 part Apple Juice
     1 part Korbel Champagne
1 part Jack Daniel's Winter Jack Tennessee Cider

2/3 of the ingredients for the Winter Jack Mimosa

My first meal of the New Year, as you can see was pretty simple. Bacon, Grits, French Toast and a glass of Winter Jack Mimosa.

The Winter Jack Mimosa was delish. I'm now thinking of a few more recipes to try using this liqueur.

Now that I've devoured my brunch and washed it down with my Jack Daniel's mimosa, I can now enjoy the rest this 1st Sunday of 2017.
